For those of you who haven’t met me yet, my name is Dr. Chance Martin but you can call me Chance, the mobility guy, or hey you and I will answer to all of them. I wanted to give a little background on the reason HavenRx was created. Essentially, we saw a need to keep crossfit athletes like you in the box by helping answer your questions about injury and providing treatment to keep you moving.
There aren’t many healthcare providers out there that will tell you to keep doing crossfit. Most will tell you it’s unhealthy. Or you’ll get injured. Or stop doing crossfit because it’s dangerous. I’m here to tell you that crossfit is a staple of what health really is. It’s a lot unhealthier to sit on the couch than it is to push your body to its limit doing crossfit.
Most of the people I see in the clinic are those who are sedentary, don’t eat right, and are extremely stressed out. Crossfit helps combat all of those things. My ultimate goal with partnering with CFR is to become the barrier between you and bad health care options.
In the clinic I see it all the time: unnecessary imaging or surgery that leads down a path of chronic pain and expensive procedures that have little to no evidence behind them.
I want to help promote a healthier population and partnering with CFR is the best way to do so. I’m merely another tool that CFR has to offer you so you can continue on the path to becoming your best self.
Now, being in the box allows me to be easily accessible and answer questions as you’re finishing up a WOD and not 2-3 months down the road when you can finally get in to see someone.
If you do end up needing treatment I want you to know that by the time you complete your treatment with me, you should have all the tools necessary to keep your movements healthy and know how to self treat your condition. I don’t want you to stop crossfit. I want you to have the tools and knowledge to stop injuries before they happen. Or to treat them if they do happen.
Make sure to keep an eye on the HavenRx Facebook page because over time I will be doing videos on here to help answer some questions you may have, address some common issues I see, and bust a few myths.
Don’t forget to share with a friend, because sharing is caring.
I’ll see you in the box.
