Hero Workout – 9am Saturday 3/16/19

HERO WORKOUT!

Tomorrow (Saturday) at 9am we are honoring a decorated local soldier’s life and sacrifice. Honoring our fallen soldiers is something we do regularly at CFR for good reason. His family will be there to watch, his cousin singing the national anthem, as everyone does the Hero workout in his name. Anyone is welcome to participate.

This event is called the Maltz Challenge, an event internationally put on each year by the DEA, honoring a local hero in each area. Childcare available until 10:40am. We will release in heats every 5 minutes, as we expect a good turnout. You can do this in 4 man or 2 man teams or as an individual. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Story and workout below…

In addition to football, basketball, baseball, and soccer he was also among the first group of cadets to launch the JROTC Program at Southwest Area Career Center in Monett. Following high school graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army in August of 2008. Stark served with the 63rd Explosive Ordinance Disposal Battalion 20th Support Command. On February 28, 2011 he and another soldier were killed when their vehicle was struck by an improvised explosive device in Wardak province. The two were en route to disable an IED when another bomb was detonated. “He loved being an EOD tech. There was never a day that Chris didn’t live life to the fullest. He experienced more in his 22 years than many do in a lifetime.”
